Claire gougat-Barbera

Assistant Ingenior

I contribute to the design, implementation and coordination of experimental evolution projects. My work focuses on the study of protist (Paramecium, Tetrahymena) dispersal in metapopulations, the adaptation of communities to environmental stressors (temperature and salinity), and host–parasite coevolution using the Paramecium caudatumHolospora undulata model system.

I oversee the coordination of experiments as well as the management of laboratory equipment, biological collections and consumables. I also provide methodological support to researchers in the design of experimental projects and train undergraduate and graduate students, PhD candidates and staff in experimental techniques and good laboratory practices.

I am also involved in the development of a biodiversity monitoring project in temporary ponds in southern France as part of the PREZODE programme (ZOOCAM).

In addition, I contribute to scientific communication and outreach through the management of the EEC team and GDR Theomodive websites, the co-organization of several scientific conferences, including Biodiversity in Equations, and biodiversity awareness activities in primary schools.
